The Oaks Parents and Citizens Association
Welcome to the Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) of The Oaks Public School! Our P&C plays a vital role in fostering a strong school community and enhancing the educational experience of all students. The P&C are a dedicated group of parents, guardians, and community members who work collaboratively with the school to support our children's learning and development.
Our Mission
The P&C aims to promote the interests of the school, encourage parental involvement, and provide a platform for communication between parents, teachers, and the broader community. We strive to create a supportive environment that enriches the educational journey for every student.
What We Do
- Canteen Management: The P&C operates the school canteen, providing healthy and delicious meal options for students. Through the My Connect app, parents can conveniently order meals in advance, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for everyone.
- Uniform Shop: We run the uniform shop, making it easy for families to purchase school uniforms at affordable prices. The My Connect app allows parents to browse and order uniform items online, streamlining the shopping experience and ensuring students are well-equipped for their school day.
- Fundraising: We organise various fundraising events throughout the year to support school programs, resources, and facilities. These funds contribute to educational resources, extracurricular activities, and community events.
- Community Engagement: The P&C facilitates connections between families, teachers, and the school, ensuring that everyone has a voice in our school community.
- Support for School Initiatives: We collaborate with school leadership to identify areas where the P&C can provide assistance, whether through funding, volunteer support, or organising events.
- Social Events: We host events to strengthen community ties and foster relationships among families, such as welcome nights, family fun days, and celebrations.
Get Involved
We encourage all parents and guardians to join the P&C! Your involvement can make a significant difference in our school community. Whether you can commit to attending meetings, volunteering at events, or simply sharing your ideas, every contribution is valuable.
Meetings
The P&C meets regularly throughout the school year. These meetings are open to all parents and guardians, providing an opportunity to discuss school matters, share ideas, and plan upcoming events. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Library and via a Zoom link. Meetings are from 7pm to 9:00pm. A joining fee of $2 gives you voting rights.
