Wear it Yellow
In 2023, our Wear It Yellow Day was a remarkable success, drawing attention from local media, including Channel 9 News, which joined us to cover the festivities. The presence of our local fire brigade added an extra layer of excitement, as firefighters engaged with students and shared valuable messages about safety and community support. We were also honoured to have our local Member of Parliament attend, showcasing their commitment to mental health initiatives in our community.

Little Kindy Program
hrough a variety of fun, play-based activities, children explore classrooms, engage in interactive learning experiences, and develop essential social skills while making new friends. The program fosters a love for learning and helps children become familiar with the routines and expectations of school.
In addition to enriching the children's experiences, the Little Kindy Program strengthens connections between families and our school community. Parents are encouraged to participate and engage, creating a collaborative environment that enhances the overall learning experience.

Lryebird Club
Oaks Public School is thrilled to welcome the Lyrebird Club run by Greg, as part of our commitment to cultural education and community connection. Greg plays a vital role in helping our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) students connect with their culture and share their knowledge with the wider school community.
Through the Culture Club program, Greg engages students in meaningful activities that promote an understanding of the rich heritage and traditions of our local area. His extensive knowledge and wisdom provide a valuable resource, allowing students to explore Indigenous culture through art, storytelling, music, and traditional practices.
The Lyrebird Club not only enhances our school's cultural awareness but also fosters a sense of pride and identity among our ATSI students. By sharing their stories and experiences, students contribute to a deeper understanding of cultural diversity within our school and the broader community.
